The Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association Junior High Power Infantry Trophy team is the 2003 Junior National Champion.

Also known as the Rattle Battle, The MRPA Junior team scored the highest of any competing Junior team, and finished 11th overall out of 62 military, adult and 15 other junior teams at the National Championships at Camp Perry on August 9, 2003.

This match is a fast paced, hotly contested test of marksmanship, equipment, coaching and nerves. There is no equal to this match. Only the best win.

Firing is conducted at 600, 500, 300 and 200 yards, sustained fire for one target exposure of 50 seconds only. In that time, the 6 man team has to put as many of teams allotted rounds (384) on 8 targets. Only hits count. There are no alibis for any reason. There is no prep or sighters. It's a
one time deal. You want to expend all your rounds by the 300 yard stage. If you take rounds to 200 you've lost. 2 coaches make the initial wind call at 600 and kneel behind the shooters watching for bullet trace with binoculars and adjust fire if necessary during the stage.

DSC member Aaron Torres was a firing member of the team. Member Ed Torres
was one of the coaches on the line.

The team fired a winning score of 1083. This was an outstanding performance
by a fine group of young people.
