Detroit Sportsman's Congress runs monthly IDPA matches on our pistol ranges. These matches are usually on the 4th Saturday of the month. We will try to hold matches year round, so please remember to dress appropriately for the weather.

D-S-C IDPA runs two groups of shooters – one @ 10:00 AM and the second @ 1:00 PM. Each group is about 16 shooters and we divide the group up into 2 squads of 8. Each squad starts on a different Course of Fire in order to assure a reasonable time to complete the match. Typically, you should be able to shoot our match in 2 – 2.5 hours.

We will NOT hold a Match in November due to Deer Season. If we hold a match in December, it will probably be scheduled for earlier in the month to avoid conflict with the Holidays.”

IDPA is a shooting sport that uses practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios.

IDPA shooting events require use of practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense. No “competition only” equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of the individual, not equipment or gamesmanship.
